OutsideWindow
Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 5, 2026
OutsideWindow is designed to give useful outdoor timing without advertising, analytics, or tracking.
Information OutsideWindow Uses
OutsideWindow uses your location to calculate local weather, air quality, sunrise, sunset, golden hour, blue hour, moon timing, and ISS visibility. You can use your current location or saved locations that you choose.
OutsideWindow stores app preferences on your Mac, including selected activities, comfort settings, saved locations, menu bar display preferences, notification settings, and onboarding choices. If you add an N2YO API key for ISS pass predictions, it is stored in macOS Keychain and can be removed from Settings, General, Integrations.
Information Sent to Data Providers
To fetch location-specific conditions, OutsideWindow may send coordinates to weather, air-quality, and ISS data providers. These requests are used only to return the data shown in the app.
- Open-Meteo for weather forecasts.
- Open-Meteo Air Quality for AQI and pollutant data.
- Where the ISS At for current ISS position.
- N2YO for optional ISS visible-pass predictions.
- AirNow and Windy when you choose map links that open in your browser.
Tracking and Analytics
OutsideWindow does not track you across apps or websites. It does not include advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or behavioral profiling.
Data Linked to You
OutsideWindow does not create an account and does not link your location or preferences to your identity.
Your Choices
You can deny location permission and use saved locations instead. In Settings, General, Privacy & Data, you can export saved app data, clear cached provider data, or delete local OutsideWindow data from this Mac, including saved locations, preferences, cached provider data, and the optional N2YO API key.
